:sos:

I have HID's fitted to the supra, which were in place when i brought the car. However they dont have full beam, or working side lights.

I have had a look but can't for the life of me work them out!!!!

Is there anyone in the South Wales/Bristol area who can help me out to fix this rather annoying problem? :banghead:

Help would be much appreciated

Well HID's are not ideal for main beam because they need to 'warm up' to achieve full brightness, they have nothing to do with side lights either.

Most go for led side lights to match the colour and don't bother with full beam listy, it's possible to buy a set for your full beam for around 50 quid but you need to bear in mind that from this year it's an mot fail.

They did work, but now they dont, and i cant see why. Think I'll just revert back to stock lights and bin the HID's. From what I've heard, they're more hassle than they're worth anyway.

The low beam, high beam and sidelights are all separate bulbs/wiring, for the reason Dude mentions above HID's are only usually used in the low beam, if the side lights and high beam are not working it will have nothing to do with the HID kit.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just sorted this out! After the first attempt, looking at the wires and thinking "f*** it", decided to go again this afternoon.

Turned out, there were two, yes TWO HID boxes per light, and the high beam was plugged into one of them. Happened to get hold of two full beam bulbs and holders, which I plugged in and hallelullia full beam now works. Ripped out the now redundant HID boxes.

Also checked the sidelights.......shoddy wiring or what!!!!!!!! So re-cut the wires, joined and soldered and insulated. Sidelights now work.

So now I have a full set of working front lights....problem solved :D
