My black uk 6 speed rebuild has started

well sort of :)

 

today i fitted a new OEM clutch, rear main oil seal and some soild gear change bushes

 

also a megan racing double decat (had to modify it though :()

 

next plans are

-BPU+

-cambelt kit inc valve stem oil seals/camseals/camgaskets

-new shocks and springs

-uprated bushes for ALL suspension components inc a geo

-refurbish the brakes all round

-clean and underseal car

 

think thats it for the power train side of things for now but interior is next then the body work starts

 

( can this be made into a project thread?)

Very nice. Good to see you waited so long and you're giving the car a good going over.

 

I think my valve stem seals need doing (well, they do) but it's a pretty daunting task, even with the thread by Tony.

 

took me quite a while on my 1st TT BUT i have a trick up my sleeve now :D

 

lexus had a recall last year on valve springs on some of there models and have made a proper kit to change them in situation so i will be using that :cool:

its basically what people do now but better.....

 

-there's a airline/regulator that you fit into the spark plug hole to keep the cylinder full of air and the valves up ( most people use the rope trick)

-and two special tools used to remove the valve collets ( snap-on make a tool to do the same, again used alot on the forum just the ones lexus made are easier and faster to use)
