Headgasket

My headgasket has gone on my 1994 N/A does anyone know were i can get a decent headgasket kit and what type of price's do they cost.

think it maybe cheaper to get a new engine what ive read before,

Either ebay or traders on here would be my guess, As stupid as ludes comment may seam you can get engines for NA's for £70.

I was looking at ebay and seen a full kit for £78 but didn't know if its good or not, i have seen a full engine for about 300 quid not as cheap as 70 quid

I've seen a couple of NA engines go for free just so people could get rid of them.

Is suprising how little they go for...

can swap in around 4 hours on a good day too

Yeah that, i took mine to toyota and got them to do it. at least that way you know the product is decent and not some cheap knock off

Good choice, iirc i paid just around £250ish for a headgasket change along with oil, oil filter, fuel filter and a couple of other bits so shoundnt be too bad.

Thats really good might aswell change the cam belt whilst i have the head off

For £75 you can come to my house and collect a GOOD complete NA engine! Or arrange a pallet pickup..

Dont forget you'll wanna be getting the head checked and skimmed, plus you're going to need new head studs, plus all the other little bits and bobs that add up

Ino the heads going to get checked on monday, i have seen the head bolts for £32 but am going to toyota to get all the price's in the next couple of days

The head bolts are re-usable. You would need an upper engine gasket set. I'm unsure if there us a difference in kits between the N/A and TT, it is called a valve grind kit (for the TT).

If it has overheated the chances are the head is warped. If the head is warped the cam bearing saddles will almost certainly be banana shaped too, so the head may well be scrap.
