AFR gauge

I'm looking at fitting my AFR gauge tomorrow at last and like usual ill be doing it all myself.

Was wondering how much others have done this and if its an easy enough job to do?

It will be located into the air vent next to where the clock would be (now where my boost gauge sits) so what's the best way to run the harness down to the boss and also where to put the boss on the exhaust?

If you have a j spec you can remove the heat sencer from the cat (just cut the wires to the heat sencer and insulate them well) then feed the cable up through the hole and under the carpet but it can be a bit hard if you dont have a cable feeder. Im sure i mounted my sencer just after the 2nd decat.

Im sure you have to get the bung weilded to the exhaust aswell so you can screw the sencer into it thats what i did anyways

Yea as above, had the bung welded next to the flange on the 2nd decat where it meets the first. The whole in the tunnel is right next to where the decats meet. All you have to do then is wire up and 12v ignition feed and ground. I put mine where the clock is as it fits perfectly.

Yes, there's a handy grommet on the left of the tunnel very close to where I fitted the sensor.

yep thats where i put my gauge too. you can then use the 12v ignition and ground that used to go to the clock.

I had to also find someone that could weld stainless steel. I got a good old boy at a local machine shop to do it as the exhaust centre's by me wouldnt do it
