Hi boys n girls,

I just joined your forum and thought that I'd say hello. I don't own a Mk4 Supra yet but I've got one in the pipe line.

Its a 4speed Auto, 3.0 twin turbo and looks amazing. I'm looking at using him for trackdays for the next few yrs and tuning it for that.

Would it be easy to change the gearbox to either the 5 or 6 speed gearbox. Other than that, I'm thinking about boring the block out to 3.4litres and upgrading the turbos/suspension.

Any ideas would be greatly welcomed.

Many thanks,

Pike :)

Manual conversions are expensive. The 6 speed would be required to handle the torque and they are not cheap. A new transmission tunnel is also required along with a different ECU.

If you want a manual, it will be cheaper to buy a manual in the first place.

Not sure if you can bore the TT block but there are stroker kits available to take it out to 3.4 litres.

As Josh says, do a search. Most questions have been "done to death" already somewhere.

We are a friendly bunch but will respect you more if you search first and ask second.

Hope that helps,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and welcome.

welcome to the club

It can been done but is an expensive job. You would really have to go for the 6 speed V160 box as the 5 speed W58 wont really hold the power and will just break.

A V160 will set you back about £2,500 - £3,500 second hand about £6,000 brand new from toyota. You then from what i have seen, change the transmission tunnel for a manual one I think.

Then the prop shaft and rear diff

It would be cheaper and easier to buy a TT6
