Facelift to glass headlights

With my conversion, one bulb type wouldn't fit.

 

The metal tabs are different to prevent incorrect fitment so best get a new pair that fit and take the light with you, as I did, to be sure. Bulbs are only a few quid and not worth bodging if you ask me. It was the cut-out in the flange being slightly different and the bulb orientation being twisted if bodged. :)

I didn't need to cut anything or bodge anything, I just put the bulbs in. IIRC you need to hold the bulb at a slight angle to get one of the tangs past its location, but that's it.
