Dyno Results from Austec racing with Dude

Hey guys

I recently had alot of work done down at Austec racing with Dude, Simon and co who as usual are absolute legends :), The work i had done was:

6 Speed conversion

New PAS pump and fluid

Greddy E-01 Boost controller

New AUX belt and CAM belt

New set of Spark plugs

Not only did they do all of this they also dyno'd it for me and fixed a few leaks coming from the front seal and cam seal.

Dude was absolutely brilliant in doing the work i asked and so soon after moving back to austec, couldnt of asked for better service.

Now on to the dyno results.. Well to say im chuffed with the results would be an understatement, The sup spec list is as follows:

Full BPU

FMIC

Greddy E-01 boost controller

6 speed manual ( with the BIG UK diff ) :)

I will say this now as im sure there will be a few that have suspicions.. I know next to nothing about dyno graphs etc so this is what dude has printed off at 1.25 bar on standard Jspec tubbys (not hybrid or steel) . I Have standard injectors, ecu, manifold and turbos.

There was also a V8 escort on the dyno when i went down and struggled to make 400bhp on dudes dyno, when it really should of been up near the 500 mark. so in a way it reassures me that the dyno isnt over reading like some i have heard of :taped:

Any how.. take a looksie at the pics and let me know what we all think :) If there is any problems you spot please dont hesitate to keep them to yourself ;)

The pics are coming out rather small as i took them from my HD phone.. will try and get a zoomed picture up of the final figure.

Its 430 BHP :) ... dont ask me whether thats flywheel or hub figure.. id assume at the flywheel. maybe dude will confirm soon.

well it all depends on how much work needs to be done behind the scenes.. me and dude agreed on £500.. but that was at a discounted rate because i bought the box and diff etc from him :).

All the little niggly things and bits and bobs that didnt work out as planned added to the price.. but to be fair even if it costs over £1000 its definitely worth every penny. the amount of work thats involved is pretty ridiculous if you ask me, dudes not one for cutting corners as he could of done with me.

good results mate! my bpu made 427hp on same spec as yours at 1.1bar at surrey rolling road, people can say something isnt right thats too much but at the end of day thats the power it has made on the dyno, nice one:thumbs:

Thanks bud

Maybe i should take mine there next .. ;)

ohh i see

i thought you had all the parts there for the conversion also

im trying to find a place that does the conversion and includes the parts, saves the hassel of looking for parts which could turn out faulty lol

Mr Chris Wilson can do that for you.

Stock cams and ECU?

Results look good but perhaps a little high with the mods listed, BPU Supras running stock j-spec turbos tend to make around 380-400hp (flywheel). 430hp is around the max you see running stock J-spec turbos along with longer duration cams and remapped ECU.

I just love it when everyone argues about dyno read outs, like Jim says we just finished an 8L escort that struggled to make 400hp and a single 6 speed that made 580 which is what was expected yet this must be high !!! I drove it and I can tell you thats about bob on for how the car drives. FFS take it to SRR as for some reason that dyno can never be wrong, even though it is a much older analogue 450 and ours has just been calibrated with the latest firmware from DD in Australia. In fact Mark Newmans car reads lower on my Dyno than SRR. Anyway, glad your happy with the conversion.

My BPU with an 18 year intercooler made 421 at Tdi North earlier in the year at 1.2bar. Paul Whif said he felt mine was a "strong un" so it fits.

People could argue forever about Dyno figures, ambient temperature and pressure etc may all effect it, but who cares?

We are not going for Guinness World records here, just an indication of what our cars are producing and if we get it tested on the same dyno after further mods then it will give an indication of how succesful (or not) the mods have been.

Good result, what you got planned next?

I was asking if there were any other mods to the car over what was stated, 430hp is definitely on the high side for a stock 2JZ-GTE, with stock j-spec turbos and stock ECU at BPU boost levels. That's somewhere around a 110hp increase with a rise of 0.45bar over a stock TT.

You and I have have seen enough dyno plots of BPU TT's running stock J-spec turbos over the years to get an idea of the kind of hp they make.
