It's a shame the engine's being swapped. It'd be cool to see how long it would last.

Engine is still laying around and will get into BMW (most probably) for fun, so we'll see some more of it soon :D

Oh, and a friend of mine just bought UK Spec TT Auto 270k miles - also pulling like a beast! Personally drove it - it's fantastic!

ive seen a sup in yorkshire, stock tt auto i think its a UK spec, it had the cream interior 477,000 miles. 1 owner from new. he lives on my cousins road.

Wow, get more details if you can! See if you can find out if that's on stock turbos. That's pretty special if so. Or maybe he's just never driven it in anger :D

i had a long chat with the fella because i had my supra parked up outside my cousins house and he approached me. this was about 2-3 years ago. i wouldnt say he was elderly, mature is the word. he hates the idea of modifying, absolutely everything in the car was stock, even down to the stock headunit. the car was absolutely mint, leathers crispy clean and the body work was very clean, he kept saying hes going to take the car to the grave. believe it or not but he said to me he had full service history aswell. in all the time hes owned it and the mileage it has done, it has never ever let him down, the only time he needed to visit a garage was for punctures and MOT's. he does tonnes of motorway mileage. hes not a computer wizz (hates computers) because when i invited him to join the forum he said he can barely type a letter on word. proper old school chap. on the front of his car he had like a type of vinyl wrap on the bonnet, wings and bumper to protect it from stone chips, obviously due to the mileage he does. very nice chap and an enthusiast its a shame hes not here.

he loved my single turbo though, im sure his was a uk spec, all the tell tell signs were there, the headlamp washes, active spoiler, bonnet scoop, cream leathers, he was the type of chap who would walk to a showroom and not an importers yard. seen as he had it from 0 mileage, he must have got it from main dealers.

I find it very hard to believe nothing has gone wrong with it if its done nearly 500,000 miles.

obviously many thing have gone wrong, he did explain that but when toyota take it, they fix it, hes said hes never been left stranded on the side of the road and never had to ever use a tow truck. he explained stuff like the exhaust developed rust holes, things like suspension knocking, wheel bearings, general wear and tear but nothing like the car breaking down on the motorway etc.

he used to live in kent but moved up north for retirement, his friends family everyone is down south hence why he drives a lot forward and back. honestly the guy from the heart loved the car, he had lots more cars but this was his favourite. he had a ml55 amg merc in his drive, an ooooolllld skool landrover discovery and a very old Jag as well.

I remember an NA that came up for sale on here a couple of years ago (before the age of "The Josh") which had silly low miles. It had been in his enclosed back garden for years and it sold for absolute pennies, something like 2.5k iirc. A mod might be able to revive the thread if it has been deleted?
