Exhaust advice to stop rasp noise and lag after decat

What kind of exhaust systems are the Na guys who have a full decat running as my 1st decat was knackered so it worked out best to get the whiffbitzs 1st&2nd kit.

I have a kakimoto backbox but it has no silencing in at all due to the previous owner and without the bung in it is stupidly loud with a hiss but with the bung in the back to much pressure build up so I cut the pipe in the bung down but it is still sadly raspy. I was tempted to widen the hole to nearer 3inches round and poss pack on the inside where the bung curves in with wadding (if feasible or worthwhile) or do I bite the bullet and get a new 2nd cat back exhaust like the japspeed one.

I miss the tone it had before someone help!

Cheers paul I may have to go that route just trying to see if I can sort it out before buying anymore stuff as I have a knee opp in just over a week and 4months off work so funds are badly tight.

I will sweep you garage and make tea and coffee if you donate me one and my mum is available if that helps ;)

Best to go with an exhaust specifically designed for the 2JZ-GE as these are usually made from slightly narrower tubing and have an additional silencer on the mid pipe. The Whifbitz exhaust looks like a good deal, Blitz also do a version of the NUR R for the 2JZ-GE.

I run a single box 2.5" full whifbitz exhaust system with 3" 2nd (i think - one furthest from engine) decat pipe. When driving at low throttle its mild but when give it some beans its nice and loud. its difficult to get a system thats loud when you want it, but mild when your crusing. Recommend the whifbitz system

3" system will be loud on an NA, you won't get any improvement with performance as you do require `some` back pressure for the engine to function properly.

Whifbitz system also looks pretty sweet :) I think the NUR looks too small. Down to personal taste!

I was nearly half tempted to put the 2nd cat back on just until I have the funds for the exhaust loud is fine but mine was way to raspy even the bung was annoying so hopefully this exhaust will get rid of that..... Mind you in for a penny in for a pound or in this case about 1000 in a few weeks tyres,decats,exhausts..... result

A slightly cheaper option than buying a complete cat back exhaust could be to use a standard 2JZ-GE mid pipe with a Blitz NUR S rear silencer. The Blitz NUR S is designed to replace the stock rear silencer and connect up to the stock mid pipe.

Cheers nic but after nearly replacing the whole system nearly with the double decat I might as well just stick it out as the other bits were only £350 then I have a new system...... Wish I brought a manifold for 1st cat at the beginning though but alas I am a moron and am now skint.

On the plus side after ecu rest my lag seams to have gone.... either that or I have stopped caring.

Come and have a listen to mine seeing as you're not far away. Mine was raspy to begin with but it's not at all now. My old Primera GT was raspy and nothing I did would get rid of it. So I cured it by selling it. Then bought it back. And sold it again. I'm only in Horley bud.

I may start crying if I hear a car that works how I want mine too. I will keep it in mind though as I am not very mobile atm due to knee opp next week so petrol and life funds are at zero until next year.

I love the tone on mine, but it's a custom manifold onto a single piece custom job with straight through and back box all built by a specialist company. I paid around £800 for the lot I think but the best money I've spent on the car.
