Seen that car at the SMC show this year mate. Lovely colour and looked very clean! I'd say £1500 on top would be a good exchange!:)

The monster unit guys take alot of pride in their cars so will have been looked after service and parts wise...and driven very hard on track days.

I wouldn't do that trade at all.

What happened to the guy offering you £8k? Why not go for that and have £3k spare when you talk this guy down to £5k if you are interested in it (though I always thought the 14A was the UK model, in which case I wouldn't pay that much for one!).

S14a is just a facelift version of an S14. Both UK and Jap spec are available.

I really fancied one before buying my Supra instead, was almost set on it actually. Was just finding a good one that was the problem. Rust and high mileage is the two things I've noticed on pretty much every one I came across. Mileage isn't that important I guess and this one is quite low in comparison to some out there anyway. Looking at the spec I wouldn't say its worth that much, maybe 4.5k unless its in absolutely MINT condition.

Worth a look I'd say but a massive chop off the price. £2k your way sounds a little better :)

they are good cars,

engine will be SR20, thats the only one that they came with.

yes some of them rot, just have a good look underneath.

as far as price goes, that does seem a little expensive for an S14,

they really have come down in price, it does have a decent spec i supose, but still.

i loved my S13, had 3 of em :) great car for the money

As Chris said, rust is a major issue. Again, the underseal and the respray would get alarm bells going.

However, if it's a good one, they are alot of fun. Even as stock they'll hold slides well, and there's very little else with the same parts support. To me, the only downside (except for the mentioned rust) is the engine note is fairly dull, and aftermarket exhausts tend to drone.

I almost bought one instead of my S2 (would have been my 3rd s14a, and my 6th 200sx :) ) but I couldn't persuade the chap to sell it in the end. It was a stock Damson Purple (the best colour for these) uk spec with cream leather, with only 20,000 miles and all the supporting paperwork.
