Opinions on these Used parts

Guys, need some opinions on the ffg..

 

1.HKS cams.. Are these original HKS? The stamps are not the official logo... These are 256deg 8.9mm lift??

2. These tyres are used Michelin Pilot Sport 285/30/19... There is a slight nick in the sidewall of one of them.. Price is GBP 230 for the pair..

Think its still safe to use?

Couldn't possibly comment on the camshafts mate, I don't know much about them.

 

But the tyres look fine, the damage in the sidewall is to the rim protector, an extra strip of rubber added to the tyre to , funnily enough, protect the rim from damage. I'd say there is still plenty of rubber between the mark and the canvas.

 

HOWEVER: Depending on how the damage happened, the tyre could have taken a fairly substantial rap from something solid. The wheel the tyre came off might've been swept up into a bucket and the only damage you'd see on the tyre would be something like that little nick. Thats until you fit it to your rim and add 30psi of air. Then you can see the nice buldges in the sidewall where the internal structure has broken and the tyre is useless.
