Has anyone here had their Tein Coilovers repaired?

My Tein SS rear coilovers have started to make squeaky noises, soo I started checking all connection in case something was loose but found none. I then turned the rod 'shaft' a few turns and I got it to stop making the noises but for only a few days. I think now it’s safe to say my coilovers are shagged.

Has anybody here had their Tein coilovers serviced? Were you satisfied with the results?

How much did it cost including any extra parts needed?

I am trying to figure out if it would be a better idea to just buy new ones especially if I end up with a bill of 400 to 500 pounds to have them repaired?

i looked into it bud, yes it is cheaper to do, but TBH id rather have peace of mind that i've got a fresh set on the car. Rather than one repaired and the other 3 not knowing if they will go at any time if you know what i mean....

If I did it I would send them all to be serviced, it costs around 70 pounds per damper and that does not include replacement of any parts; for instance a piston rod will cost around 65 pounds. That is why I am thinking it may be wiser to buy new ones!

I looked into this so time ago and found this to be prohibitably expensive. I found Tein to be uninterested in the procedure and all contact to be riddled with ifs and buts with no clear answers. There are just so many hidden charges and I worked out that I could end up spending more on refurbishing the suspension than a new set would cost.

If they are gone, cut your losses and get a new set, I would go for BC or HSD. Perfectly adequate for most peoples needs.

I can get them done but it's definitely not cost effective. IMO they are rubbish, with the most basic valving and poor shaft bearings and seals in them. Bilsteins are the equivalent of the Space Shuttle to a horse and cart, valving wise. Dampers aren't cheap, especially coil overs, it's important to know they can be repaired or re valved if needed. Plus people happily spend thousands on bling and engine mods, then look aghast at spending more than a pittance on one of the most critical items on making the car usable on our lousy roads, and safe.

That sums it up I think..! ;)

How old are they ?

They were on the car when I bought it, but from research probably /- 4years old.

I am not satisfied with the performance of my Tein SS I'm not sure if it's because they are old but I dont feel the car is grounded as well it should going around tight corners. I've got 19'' wheels on rolled arches and a body kit so I think it's better to have adjustable coilovers so I can play with it to get the right stance. What adjustable coilovers do you recommend?

FYI: I live in Portugal and the roads here are like carpets;
