Hey guys,

Has anyone used 3D Transmissions in Reading? I have owned my V160 transmission NA supra for two weeks now and noticed the transmission is leaking. I Have already replaced the shifter linkage seal but its still leaking from there :( I noticed people had their V160's repaired by Phoenix in Watford but the guy that did the work is no longer there.

Has anyone used 3D transmissions in Reading?

If so what were your experiences?

thanks for the help!

Well I thought it was the output shaft at first, I then noticed fluid all around the selector shaft. So I thoroughly cleaned it and all around the box. Replaced the selector shaft seal, topped up with oil and drove the car for a day. I then jacked it up to notice fluid all around the selector shaft and seal again. I have heard horror stories of the selector shaft being worn rendering a seal replacement useless...

Sorry for being a Noob but i'd really like to enjoy my new car. I got rid of the S13 to enjoy Toyota reliablity and I've had nothing but issues with it :(

I take it you're a respected mechanic? What are your costs?

Cheers,

Alan

Would you want to drop the box off to me or have us remove it?? I would try the output shaft seal first, did you remove the old selector shaft seal or just tap the new one in on top. Remove and refit gearbox is 2 hours, strip rear caseing and change seals and reassemble box is 3 hours, we charge £65 an hour. i cannot see how the shaft is worn, more likely the seal is fitted incorrectly, im hoping you have not scored the shaft by trying top prise out the old seal, if so this will need replacing and the further dissasembly time may be another 3 hours. any parts are extra and I recomend we change all the seals while its out.
