Rang for an MOT at 12.00 got a nice shiny certificate by 15.00..!!

On what is not the best of days (Thread later), I had time to see if I could get the car in for an MOT.

 

Rang my local, friendly MOT station and the car went straight through with no advisories. The emissions test was borderline even with both cats in, why could that be?

 

My MOT tested said that the car could probably just do with a service or a good blast up the motorway but it only went to JAE this weekend. I am now thinking of having the oil, filter and plugs changed but will this make much of a difference or could the cats be shafted?

Id just take the second cat off anyway and put on a decat pipe. The first Cat id assume would be fine as my 17 year old one was. It would pass an MOT with just one in the future anyway.

 

A good service with a new 02 sensor may should do the trick I would of thought.

 

Ah, I never thought about the 02 sensor.

It defiantly sorted my over fueling issues that's for sure.

 

Definitely worth a shot but I cant remember if its one or two on vvti's :think:

 

I always thought TT's were one?

 

She doesn't seem to be heavy on fuel. She has done JAE and two trips to Standish with a 1/4 of a tank left.

Just had a thought - mine is due for the MOT tomorrow. I have a Apexi S-AFC so would turning the fuel down for the day lower the emissions? I'm clutching at straw's a bit tbh, it's double decat BPU but every little may help! :D

You need a friendly MOT station mate. I can't see it passing with no cats in at all surely?
