Does it matter what brand silicone hoses you use?

Silicone hose without a fabric mesh moulded in it is a terrible choice for vac / pressure hoses, which I can only assume a 5mm hose will be used for? You should use a rubber hose, like the stock ones. Gates and Wurth sell it. Plain small bore silicone that has to be held on with tie wraps is asking for unreliabilty. It slips off, splits and the cheap stuff deteriorates rapidly. You'll never see it on a "proper" race car or a production car.

Even from the link above? Got a link to buy some, preferred if it could be red.

Chris and the other chaps are bang on! Trust me you buy cheap you buy twice! I've got a mixture of stock, samco and sfs hoses on the GTR supplied through RB motorsport and its all been very good i.e. they haven't failed at 2bar whilst tuning, however non of them where cheap, cheap!
