To wipe or not to wipe

That is the question

Opinions please on whether i should do away with the rear wiper and washer squirter.

I shall be removing the TRD wing and popping the glass out in the next few days and repainting

the tailgate hence the above question.

Na I don't think so TBH mate, It can come quite handy. If you reverse into a post or something as you couldn't see out the rear window, you will kick yourself for removing it.

Get it gone, looks much sleaker without it.

I thought about it too before my respray, much as it looks better without it, it does come in useful in the wet and could even save you having a crash, so I'd keep it if I were you.

I was gonna remove my wiper and washer when I painted the supra but I had a change of heart at the last minute, I think it looks no better with it removed, keep it, as above if you reverse into something in the rain you'll be gutted

had the same thoughts as everyone else but the same worries too, id say keep it just on the safe side

My DC2 came without the rear wiper as it was a delete option on the JDM cars. I have to say I prefer not having it, looks far neater and I don't miss it (yes, my Supra had one).

Remove them mate. When I had my boot smoothed with the 3rd brake light gone I was thinking about it but never did. Wish I got it done now

Get it gone dude, smooth is the way to go.

If you've got tinted windows I don't recomment it.. Can be a nightmare to see out the back when it's raining at night, not ideal on the motorways. I'm adding mine back in.

I must admit I've never had any problems. A scoot of rain x every now and again does all I need

I dont think i've hardly ever used it to be honest hence me thinking remove it.

What i might do is remove it but just pop a grommet in the hole rather than weld it up.

Ive never used mine to be honest, and they do look a lot better without one.

Just to add, my mates driven a van with a solid cabin for years and not crashed... even in the rain in the dark

I had mine deleted in May and have not missed it at all and it definately cleans the lines of the rear, although I guess it's a bit anal

To be honest the rear vision is pretty poor anyway, if the post is under 3 foot high and you don't look at where you are reversing to before you back in, your going to hit it anyway

I guess being an HGV driver helps, as I tend to look at where I will be reversing before I attempt it and I am used to relying on side mirrors

De-soilered and got rid of the wiper on mine. Didn't have one on my TVR, not missed it on my Soup.

If you reverse into something because there is rain on the rear window you can't have been looking that well!!!

Get rid.

I shall remove it tomorrow and see if i can find something to fit the hole, or just use

black insulation tape

I seem to remember that a member made some custom bungs to fit the wiper motor

wtf... people really use it?? a lot of cars come without them as standard. it's one of the BEST mods i've done and really updates the rear imo, having any kind of rear tint is way more 'dangerous' than not having the wiper imo and no one seems to worry too much about those.

In my old Supra without tints I rarely used it, but on rainy night and the tints on the current one, I could really do with it hence the comment realier.

Personaly I prefer the look of the car without one, but not at the cost of safety.

Dunk, I used a rubber bung on my current one, found it in a scrap yard It's been in there about 3 years and has never leaked.

Suprasurrey made a metal bung for me never leaked, top guy! I think it looks alot better without the wiper plus I never really used it :-)
