View Full Version : Warning light after changing to facelift rear lights
I've just changed from j-spec rear lights to facelift rear lights, only now the brake failure warning light on the dash panel lights up as soon as I touch the brakes.
Presumably this is caused by it expecting to see 2 sets of brake lights per cluster instead of just one on the facelift lights.
Any idea how to rewire to stop this fault light appearing?
Thanks as always
I just cut the wires going in to the "sensing" circuit (by the fuel pump ECU) - or you could just take the bulb out...

is it tied in with the one on the "blub blown" warning light??
:conf:
Not that I'm aware of. I wouldn't want it to be disabled though.
I meant the bulb for "bulb blown" erm... bulb...
But I just cut the wires going in to the sensor... hmm... just given me an idea....

If you want to do it properly......

Why not wire them all up as brake lights and then do the TRL fog light conversion to use the inner set of lights as the fog lights?
It's what my facelift rear lights are setup as.
Ben..
Thanks for the replies  I didn't think to wire them all up as brake lights so will give that a shot!
I like the sound of the fog light mod so will give that a try too! I haven;t got any fog lights now and the MOT is due in a couple of weeks :(
