the quality on certain VVTi bits is dubious. Lots of VVTi's have problems with the boot release. I changed mine to a non face lift, and hey presto, perfect. Door panels are another, I have change mine to pre VVTi ones

Iffy in what way? As in it won't 'pop open' the boot properly?

Keith when you pop the boot, go to the rear of the car, you have to put the key in again as it doesn't disengage properly. I spoke with Matt about it and he said every VVTi they'd had in did it:(

Yeah, mine does that, its a right PITA.

Is it just the boot lock mechanism that needs to be swapped, Terry?

Exactly what Faye's does!

Curiously, when it had 7 crates of Carlsberg in it the mech worked perfectly! :innocent:
