Hi there

Am seeking your advice regarding my Supra.

I have 1996 Supra was imported from Japan, converted it to left hand.

It used to be Automatic transmission, converted it to manual 5 gear.

It runs with Aristo jzs 147 computer.

This is the stuff I have in my car now:

Clutch ORC twin plate

Fuel BOCSH 044

SARD 720 CC

GTR Rezester

HKS CAMshaft

Head Boarding and Polishing

Custome Engine Pully kit

HKS twin power DLI

Plitz intercooler 3 Inch

Bletz k6-900R Turbo

HKS gt2 wesgate

HKS 1.5 metal head gasket

Jzs147 ECU

I feel the car runs heavy L

And the boost from 1st to 2nd is low and it doesn’t cross 10psi L

3rd gear it goes to 20 psi

I check if there was any leakage but I dint find any L

Am lost now and I don’t really know what I can check or do.

Am really seeking for your professional help and support to make my Supra fly.

I will wait for your kind respone.

what is the way forward to load it from 1st.

and are the stuff i have in the car is good?

what do you think of the Jzs147 ECU in it?

is it fine or there is something else which will make it better!!

can you suggest me a project for the supra which will make it run like a beast?

sorry to bother you with all my questions.

with the stuff i have in the car how much should i expect!!

should i be fine with what it has now and what it offers me in the road??

i think something is wrong coz it can go for more but i dont know what it is :(

You're running a Blitz K6-900R turbo - rated at around 900hp - at 20psi with a stock JZS147 Aristo ECU?

What 5spd gearbox does it have fitted?

Can you post pics of the engine bay?

Couple of options:

1. Completely rebuild your engine with stronger internals, upgrade all the fueling, cooling, drivetrain, mapped standalone ECU, etc. to support the turbo ie. spend a HUGE amount of money having the car professionally rebuilt from the ground up to get the potential hp out of the turbo.

2. Fit a smaller turbo (I'd suggest a turbo rated at around 550-600hp), mapped standalone ECU, etc.

Hi Nik

i just got back home,,

i was on filed working..

will take some pictures and post it..

b4 i put this Bletz k6-900R Turbo i used to have a T-70

but i was thinking to go high on speed that's why i got the Bletz k6-900R Turbo..

i have a Bletz high performance ECU, but its not function right..

sometime the cut off is at 5 sometime its at 7 and other time its at 8..

it used to be Auto transmission and i made it manual now..

i've been adding stuff on it from the start

it used to be a normal twin turbo and i started modifying it..

was thinking to go for higher boost haha

it was running sweeet with the T-70 Turbo but i was thinking to upgrade it to run faster..

am doubting the pressure of the head is low thats why am not able to go high on the boost,,

i will update you in the 2mro with the photos..

cheers

i will put the T-70 back and increase the boost in it to 25psi.

but i will update you with the pic b4 and after..

i was going wild and thinking it can work with the Bletz..

but have to go step by step on it..

you guys suggest any other Turbo or i should go with the T-70..

We suggest you focus on what Nic is saying - your car right now is probably running like pig, you "modified" it by sticking single turbo without adding standalone ECU with proper map. Noone here will be able to help you at all if you keep sticking in different turbos without other upgrades.

What make is the turbo and what is the full spec?

On a stock engine I'd aim for around 550-600hp, your 720cc injectors and Bosch 044 fuel pump will be fine at these sort of power levels. A 61mm turbo at 1.5bar will spool up quickly and produce around 550hp. A 67mm turbo at 1.5bar will be slightly less responsive but should produce around 600hp.

You also need to fit an aftermarket ECU and have the car properly mapped.

i have A/C Blettz Modified ECU, but it dint respond good with the car and i used the Jzs147.

GearBox is Jzx90

when i was using Jza80 (Manual) boost and respond of the car was better

am still thinking to work on the Bletz Turbo and try my luck with it..

what if i put fuelcutch and 2 x o44 inline will it be better?

and i found an aftermarket ECU.

will check with the guy and see the specifications of the ECU.

  • 1 month later...

heey guys,

i made it, after putting the fuelcutch, now from 1st gear its boostin 20psi :-)

i will try to see if i can go for more boost on it, which i doubt..

in order to make this turbo run great i need to be spending alot of $$..

and i tested my car right away last night with a SS Comaro , it runs amazingly.

i know i dint post much..

but i will take picz today and i will put them on..

hope all are doing good..

peace

I'd run the stock engine up to 700hp without any problems, I ran mine at 800hp for two years beating it up regulary.

I think the problem is with the 720cc injectors and stock JZS147 ECU. You need to have a proper stand alone ECU like AEM EMS, HKS Fcon V-Pro etc..

Also what do you mean the car runs heavy?

If you cant get more boost than 10 psi on the first two gears, it might be that the turbo is just too big, you have a boost leak or your boost controller is faulty.

What do you mean by fuelcutch?

Stock MAP sensor is good for only 18 psi, after that it doesnt measure the boost any more and you hav a risk to lean out the mixture. Do you have a wideband Air fuel ratio gauge?

I think he might mean a fuel cut defender but I am just guessing.
