Primer maybe? HOK paints can be pretty complex as far as i know, and require quite a few different coats for different finishes...

No one interested in the car next to it? oh well :(

:D

It is indeed a HOK candy red but with a gold base coat, looks amazing in bright sunlight. It's a 6spd TT aero, soon to be going single ;)

This is an awesome pic Daryll. Your car looks good too mate :-)

1.5K just for paint, "holy cellulose Batman". I didn't even pay that to have my whole car painted.

1.5k is far too much for paint, i remember purchasing roughly 2 liters of hok Candy red, the primer, laquer, hardner, this that and it all cost me about 250 euro, this was about 6 years ago. Im going back to the shop tomor so will update this tomor night with prices :)

@ Daryll - if you can dig out the email of what base was used that would be great, thanks

TRD-Rob is a good mate of mine, if he doesn't have the colour specs himself I think I have them in an email somewhere. Let me know if you're interested. The gold base coat was HOK too as well as the primer and laquer.

I wouldn't mind this actually if you'd be kind enough? I've wanted a supra in this colour since I initially saw it on this a few years back...

Would be much appreciated if you could send me the specs Rob has in a PM, if you do still have the email, so I've got it for future reference :)

There was a lot more than that from what I remember, the HOK candy apple red was around £1k alone bought direct, I think there was a lot of other products used, but the prices seem to match up to HOK consumer prices. If you can get it cheaper all credit to you :)

Will let Rob have a look himself first :) His paint is the same as in the picture you posted. Artificial lights do a lot to enhance the paintwork on metallic/candy paints
