Depending on how much power he desires he might be better off with a '93 J-Spec G-Limited or a UK spec car - £3k doesn't buy you much of a turbo. I have a bit of an MR2 site if you click the link in my sig, otherwise http://www.imoc.co.uk, http://www.mr2oc.co.uk, http://www.mr2oc.com and http://www.mr2dc.com are good places to start. Ben's site is also one of the best out there. If he wants to have a real good look around some MR2s there is a good chance of over a thousand of the buggers at Bruntingthorpe this Sunday - http://www.mr2004.com - I'll be there
Willson
Sick thing is, the insurance on an import is probably more than a uk supra edit - just to say, Im on my 2nd mr2, and I love them, nearly as much as the supra The mid engine, short wheel base, makes them very chuckable. Cosy interior, fantastic build quality. When I sat in one for the first time, I fell in love.
Mad Ad
I hate to say this but I prefer the mk1. My parents have got a 1989 red one which is immaculate throughout with only 56k on the clock! I love driving it. The way it handles and its 7.5k red line!
