nigelc
I know this is another old problem / question, but every thread I've looked at with search just goes around in circles without any recommendations! I have a J Spec facelift, surprisingly I hear you say, my headlamps are dim. I have to drive down unlit lanes couple of evenings a week and it's a pain in the arse! I'd love HID, but haven't won the lottery yet! I have looked at several different makes of bulbs as replacements and the favourites at the moment are Phillips Blue Vision. Questions are: 1. What bulbs do people recommend for best vision in J spec 2. What bulb codes for Facelift headlamps 3. What wattage to safely avoid melting anything 4. Anything else I should consider? Thanks, nigel
michael
I got a set of the Philips Premium bulbs from Envy a while back, they made a huge difference on my UK car, a few J-Spec owners got them too I think, all had positive feedback. This thread might be of interest. Reminds me that I need some fog bulbs!
Seb
Philips Premium +30% are the best lights that you can fit to a Soop short of HIDs. Other car owners can fit the even better +50% bulbs but the 30s are still much better than stock. Seb
dangerous brain
OK well at Billing I bought a set of phillips whatnot bulbs but had to do a bit of jiggery pokery ie cutting off of lugs bits to get them to fit my J-Spec. What are the UK codes for the dipped beam bulbs as so far the main beam ones were the only ones I could muller in reasonably. and do phillips do a bulb that fits dip beam? dangerous brain
And are they the UK equivilent of the J-spec bulbs? cos the j-spec holders are different and require bulb mullering to get them to fit.
michael
I think all of those would need some adjustment for a J-Spec
dangerous brain
Yeah I guessed so. The question I was in a roundabout way tryin to ask is if anyone knew the numbers for a non-mullering J-spec type bulb?
nigelc
That's a good question! There must be correct coded bulbs that fit the J Spec correctly. Does the US spec match the J Spec car bulb shape wise?
nigelc
Bump! Anyone know the correct no mod needed JSpec bulb codes?
