Downpipe question !

Yes I have been searching but this is kind of urgent lol.

I am meeting with a guy in 2 days, he has two downpipes for sale and I will be buying one.

He has a used modified 3" downpipe direct bolt on for JDM twins.

or new 3" RMM downpipe for American Supra's. This one should need a 2" restrictor ring. Also it is a bit cheaper.

So my question is. If I run a DP with restrictor will this be ok? or would going with the JDM downpipe be a better choice?

If you've got an export spec supra the jdm downpipe wont fit, if you've got a jspec supra the RMM won't fit. If you've got an export spec supra (US) and buy the RMM downpipe you wont need a restrictor as you won't have the sh!tty jspec wastegate/s.

I have a JDM RHD 1995 Supra TT 6-speed

sooo the RMM downpipe will not fit? Can I just get the 2" restrictor ring?

will I be better off getting the JDM downpipe then? I like the RMM one though lol.

You'll be better off with the JDM downpipe yes, seeing as how you have a JDM car. If you get the RMM downpipe he is selling it won't fit. Also if its for a US spec supra it'll be for LHD.

As for just getting a restrictor ring, unless you remove the cats I can't think why you would fit one. Just buy the JDM one and run your second cat or a restrictor ring INPLACE of your second cat.

I am also removing the 2nd cat with a 3" HKS midpipe, forgot to mention this.

I would like to ideally be around 400bhp+ so I know this will require a full de-cat.

In this case should the JDM downpipe have a flange in it so the turbo's don't overboost as they are expected to?

I think that it's a vvti.

I'll be interested by this first de-cat downpipe you sell, and i'll complete with an HKS mid pipe.

I'll buy some gasket to make it clean :)

If you "build" them, I'd like to have a 2nd sensor plug on the de-cat so I can put the OEM one + an AFR.
