Getting my geo set up done at last since i bought a pair of rears as the car seems to eat them (Cambers well out and scrubbing the inside) Will i notice a massive difference in handling or will it be a bit of a "Oh its slightly better"? Never had it done before so just wondering

Who is doing it?

Gs auto. i know Vickery that works there so think i got a bit of a discount

...With vat £143..had a seized part and they used some oxy/acet to free it up apparently.....looked at your car.....really nice looking car...I like it.

Hopefully mine goes smoothly. Cheers for the car comment :)

I had mine done when I bought my car, chewed two sets of tyres inside 6k, got it re-done by a known specialist in my area a few months ago, completely different car - grips and goes like never before... makes me wonder WTF the last guys were doing when they apparently set it up for "fast road".... I paid £120 and I couldnt be happier with the result.

massive difference!

when i had my car, was running stupid camber, looked like a VW euro boy lol

was wearing tyers stupidly, and at high speed was wandering/crabbing slightly.

after a goe, all of the above gone, and handles much more sharp & straight, and no silly tyre wear.

i paid £140.

I was telling Ian Ian the other day that our local guy does it for £45. He has all the machines and a digital readout on all the adjustments. I have never understood why some places charge three figures for whatg they do?

There must be more to this.?

I think they charge loads as not many garages do it and the kit is well expensive

I would just like to see if there is any difference in what they do? My local tyre place puts like a camera on each wheel and then the readings are shown on monitors around the car. He then goes around adjusting the camber, toe etc. I had my NA done a couple of years ago and it handled like a dream afterwards.

the machine costs 30k, thats why it costs a lot i think.

it doesnt take that long for them to do. they just atach those camera things on each wheel, then thats lasered to a computer in the front/centre.

then the mechanic just undoes the camber arms etc, and adusts the wheels until the computer reads the correct measurement/degree etc.

Awesome. Im hoping all my nuts or bolts arnt seized up, They should be able to cope though i hope?

I had mine done at WIM last year and it absolutely transformed the car. I could feel the difference just driving out of the industrial estate.

cant wait to get mine done now, As i said before it gets light atabout 130-140 im guessing its something to do with all the geo

I paid £49 inc vat to have mine done at Just Car Clinic in Leeds. They used a hunter hawk eye machine.

I believe the difference in cost is due to the fact that 'generally' (unless your being ripped off of course) the guys that charge 3x more eg, C.W & WIM are far more knowledgeble and can tailor the settings depending on what handling characteristics your after. The machine is incredibly easy to use but the skill is in knowing what degree/mm setting does what. Thats what you are paying extra for as it takes more time. £49 is a good price if your just after stock settings running stock wheels.
