View Full Version : Merchandise- what would YOU buy?

Supragal

Please vote for all items you would be interested in buying. The items would have the club logo etc on similar to the clothing. Prices are a slightly educated guess to give you a rough idea.

If theres enough interest I'll sort it out.

:)

This isn't just a cafepress thing is it?

They really are quite cack and you can upload your own image and do your own for less.

Faye

Sounds like a coffee bean grinder

indeed it does. for the record, as i've never heard of it i suspect strongly not. i'd love to know what it is though Lewis?

It's an online branding service, basically you upload an image or a group of images, then it sticks those images onto default merchandise.

You can then set your prices (above the cost to you) and make money.

It's a good cheapie thing, but far from fine quality.

An example: http://www.cafeshops.com/olt

By your response I am guessing they are not cafepress items

:D

great idea Supragal

If ya need any help with the artwork side of things I'd kindly donate my graphic design skills (i use the term "skills" loosely :looney: )

I personally think:
Mug
Mouse Mat
Metal Keyring
Baseball Cap (PLEASE not hideous Chav style Burberry)

Maybe stuff we can put in our cars like.
Tax Disc Holder
Sun Strip (humm, not sure on this)
Valve caps (lockable)
Air freshener
Door matts
Door Graphics (Vinyl)

just ideas...

Just a suggestion, well, Chantelles suggestion actually...

How about a calender? - The FTO club do a calender with some of the owners cars in it. It's nothing special, but we had one for a year and it's better than some....

Good idea,
we can pre-mark events like JAE, Japfest, Santapod and other days.

Yup, nice ideas- got a hooooge list but had to narrow it down just to get a feel for the response- problem is there tends to be minimum orders for stuff of like a few hundred at least so what I can't do is buy a few hundred of everything that would be cool as I'll never sell it all and then I'll be stuffed!!

I do intend to do more of it at some point, maybe just not in one big hit.

Tax disc holders is something I've enquired about already actually...

Artwork- thanks for the offer mate, we've got that sorted though, really really appreciate the offer though

And same for all the suggestions- nice one :)

Calendar- weird, I was thinking about that too for 2005... Maybe have a vote for the cars we want in there or make sure we have one of every different type ie pre facelift, facelift, targa top and so on... UK and Jap etc?
If people are really keen on that one then I'll do more investigation into prices.

As for pre-adding dates- sounds ideal but it's very much dependant on if dates are decided that far in advance (we'd need to put these into production fairly soon I should think)

Bespoke calenders of short run lengths are usually only found from specialised companies...luckily, I run one! :)

Supragal, have a look here (http://www.forum.mkiiisupra.net/showthread.php?t=1887) the mkiii forum are organising a calander for next year, looks to be about £15 per calendar, maybe worth asking them who they are talking to as well :)

Supragal
17-08-04, 19:39
nice one jive, i'm on the case with quotes- if it looks like it'll be more than £15 then i'll see if they can help me out

CJ

I just looked at that thread and it says that they can get them for £5 for 50 or less and £4 above

I run a printing co and if they can do it for that and make a profit, then good luck to them. My concern would be the quality and whether it includes any setting / design.

It may be worth your while getting samples first?

Supragal

I thought it said £15 each?! :conf:

Either way, having worked in the printing industry I'm with CJ on this one, theres no way it could be done AFAIK

I'm gonna look at ordering some of this stuff soon. Mugs and baseball caps I should think. Look out for the thread over the next few weeks...

I asked one company how much they would work out to each and for a run of a small size it's like £20 each or something silly. I did only ask 1 company though...

We were thinkig about getting tax disc holders as a second year gift, I will enquire further tomorrow :)

great idea.

Not that I'd turn down a fancy FREE tax disc holder, but Im sure you'll find it hard to give them away at around £20.00 a pop cost to you.

How about those cling film or static cling holders you can get in promotions.
They must be cheep as chips :innocent:

well i've found a company (thanks to pete!) who will make us club metal ones but will be about £10-12 each- still too much as freebies.

I've asked a couple of people about the plasticy ones but no replys as yet.

Thing is of course, if I get in metal ones as merchandise for people to buy then theres no point in having plasticy ones to give away.... thoughts people? would you rather pay for a nice metal one or have a plastic one for free in your second year?

Lazarus
25-10-04, 12:36
I think I'd prefer the metal one, got a cheap plastic one at the mo that came with the car (so about 18 mth old) and is now starting to look terrible, faded, sagging and lifting off of the screen at the edges.
Rather have something more robust.

that must be a nightmare through the metal detectors at airports.
And how do you stop it rusting in the bath?
