The key fob has four buttons from memory (well most do). The bottom two turn on/off the silent activation/disarm of the system.

But the silent arm/disarm should still activate the hazzards to give visual notice that the action has been done.

So from this basis it sounds like you could have a loose connection somewhere. Try following the wires to see if anything is obviously out of place.

Or even clean up any connections you can find to make sure its not a corrosion issue.

I'm not an expert on this but I did watch the guy install my alarm a few years ago. Plenty of wires in the system to create a problem if anything were to come loose.

I have just has a AI606 fitted it only chirps when arming it...not disarming it......also paid for dual microwave proximity sensor and its crap it works but is pathetically quiet!! Like doing a squeaky fart!!

The siren itsel isnt particularly loud either!

Should chirp twice when arming & one when dissarming (or the other way around) you should be hearing chirps arming & dissarming anyway.

Check the fused feed to the control unit, they occasionally blow when reconnecting the battery (if workshop had it off). If not, check the block connectors going into the unit. It's usually under the dash, near your left knee.

My installer said it only chirps on Arm but he should have set it to silent as its against UK legislation to have the alarm chirp......I dont know I just agreed with him and off he went......It unlocks the doors off the fob everything seems to work so sod it!!

I have a toad ai606 or something like that but my bottom 2 buttons do nothing.

Mine is also the Ai606. Mine is set up so that the top two buttons give 3chirps on lock/arm and 2chirps when open/disarm.

If there is a door open or boot open then on lock there will only be one longer chirp sound as a warning that the vehicle is not fully closed.

The bottom two buttons turn on/off the silent mode. This is usually for if/when you were to pull up outside your house at 2am for example and you don't want to cause a noise to surrounding sleeping neighbours.

But on all cases the indicator lights should also flash to give a visual notice that the Ai606 has received an instruction.

I can only assume that if none of the above is taking place then you have a loose connection somewhere or that the system has been set up with various options disabled.

Be sure to check that once you have locked/armed the system that it is actually working to secure your car.

ie. try to get in to it once locked/armed to check if the alarm goes off and immobiliser activates.

You can turn on/off different options within the system by using the key in the ignition and following the manual that should have come along with the unit.
