Suprakeith
Alrite chaps bin going my paper work today as have heard from few people that you can not chip the mk4 ecu,yet i have a reciept for a envy performance chip, fitting and set up, so question is can a mk4 ecu be chipped? or is this envy performance chip just a piggy back device? just trying to find out as much about my cars history as possible... Also would like to ask is it a easy job to replace the aux belt and tensioner? have had a look and believe way to do is: 1. remove fan and plastic behind belt 2. undo tensioner and slide belt off 3. replace tensioner then slide belt on using bar so tensioner holds belt in place is that right please? Bailey.
Don't know about the chip, but the aux belt is as you described to change, very easy.

Tricky-Ricky
Alrite chaps still would like to know if a mk4 ecu can be chipped as from what i have bin told it a self learning system The mk4 ECU cannot be chipped in the UK, i believe there has been one or two Japanese company's that have accomplished it, but never seen one in the UK. The ECU is not self learning as such, but can run default maps during fault conditions.
