Will an S2000 engine work in a Supra?

Please go easy on me.

i really want to get back in a supra but i can't afford a turbo and it will be my daily drive and i do quite a few miles a week so i need something economical, which a supra isn't

ive had to give up on a kit car ive been building and as a result im left with an engine and gearbox

would it be wrong to put a f20c S2000 engine in a supra

Wouldnt that engine lack torque for such a car as the Supra?

well if its anywhere near 200bhp then thats na supra power. but i always thaught the s2000 engines were low on torque anyway :S

Torque curve is what's important, not the peak values only Have a look at the s2000 engines torque curve, it's massively lacking in low end power so would have serious issues at low/mid rpm's trying to drag a supra around

Plus it would look gay....!!

It's not all about the figures, it's the delivery that counts.

You'd be better off selling the S2000 engine & Gearbox & putting that towards an LPG conversion on a NA Supra.

For what you have described, this will be the most sensible route.

I love Supra's but if I was doing a lot of miles daily, I wouldn't be doing in my Supra.

I've tweaked the thread title so it can be searched for by other members who have such ridiculous ideas

The cost and trouble of getting it to work mechanical wise and the wireing would be high. And end up with a slower car than what you started with.

The S2000 isn't exactly that economical either, why go to all the hassle and expense of fitting an S2000 engine into a Supra only to save a few pence? I'll go easy on you though, as you obviously have mental issues...

The Supra NA has 213 ft/lb so about 290 NM! Considerably more than the S2000.

If it was me I would jsut save hard until you had the funds to get a tidy TT if thats your ultimate goal. You wont be happy with anything else.
