Not alot of pics i'm afraid as i just wanted to get them done as fast as possible.

Heres the steps i used to get the the point im at now -

1. Nitromors to remove the silver paint.

2. 600 grit wet/dry to get to a reasonably smooth finish

3. Drill with 400 grit abrasive and wheel to remove as many imperfections as possible.

4. 3 stage polish using various mops and polishing compunds (i still have 2 steps to go after these pics.

So far i have only managed to do the spokes, still the centre and outer edges/ inbetween the spokes left to do, time taken so far is around 6 hours but i aim to get the second wheel completely done in less than 4.

They are by no means perfect but i think it is a slight alternative to either painted or stock coloured wheels.

I am only going to use them at Suprapod so not really worried about cleaning them etc.

I dont have the centre caps, was just going to use them like this, would look odd with plastic centres anyways lol.

Good work that Neil

My rear hub nuts show when I take the centre caps off, is there supposed to be a cover?

Right quick update.

I started the second wheel today, basically trying to get them both finished asap.

After Nitromors it looked like this -

Once over with 80 grit ( i decided not to use wet/dry as its quite time consuming)

I will update during the day for anyone interested. Next step is finish all the little bits with the 80grit then move onto 180 then 400, then use the 3 polishing wheels.

I'm interested. Can you post pics of them on the car too. :)

As soon as they are finished i will do some pics bud.

Maybe a couple of coats of lacquer on them after they're done might preserve the finish?

If I had a spare set of stock wheels, I'd do this as well, if they can be easily maintained.

Good job so far. :)

I might just do a couple of coats, i am only using them for suprapod (yes all this work for one day)
