Brake pads

I changed my rear brake pads this evening and found, to my dismay, that one side had no retaining v-clip or anti-squeal shims. I've had to fit the new pads without them until I can buy a set but are those items part of the caliper refurb kit? I had all 4 calipers refurbed a few months ago and can't believe these have been left out???

I'm assuming the items are not vital to the actual mechanics of the brakes so driving without for a couple of weeks is not an issue?

Thanks jurgen, I had a feeling they werent part of the refurb kit but just wanted to check. Chris wilson supplied the fastroad pads but they didn't come with anything but the pads.

Not to worry, I'll call my Toyota dealer in the morning and get a set. Easy enough to fit retrospectively.

You don't need the anti squeal shims on the back.

The v-clips are not included in the caliper refurb kit they can be bought separately.

04948-14010 Toyota Fitting Kit - 2pot rear calipers.

Cheers Nic. I've sprayed the back of the pads with copper grease. Will that be enough to avoid squeaking? I appreciate you say the shims are not needed but surely they make a difference?
