Hang on, I thought supras weren't allowed to break down. :innocent:

Its a common problem and I had it happen to me. Most likley the contacts are worn out on the starter. Toyota sell a referb kit for about £15 and there is a guide on here somewhere.

Happened to me, I refused to call a recovery truck, ended up changing the starter by the roadside!

That's what I would do (if I was auto), give it a shove to a quieter street and go to town. I'd even take a bit of cardboard and write on it "Will refurbish starter motor contacts for food" and then sit it by my side while I went to work :D

I think Scott means solenoid contacts. I keep them in stock. They often wear and stop the starter operating. Instead they just click.

how much are they i do normally check 1st but need it sorted quick, when i tried starting it would just click and if i kept trying you would get a slight smell when near the engine
