MOT today

In only about an hour I'll be setting off towards my MOT Test appointment.

I'm not actually that concerned about it from a mechanical point of view - I'm confident that in this respect my car is sound- but it's all the b*llsh1tty bits of the MOT that I find cause me the most worry. Things like number plate character spacing (my current plates have been under an MOT Testers scrutiny twice, passing once and failing the other...) and rear reflectors (same as my plates, my tinted rear lights have passed once, failed once...).

I'm using a garage I've never been to before, so time will tell how anal or otherwise they are...

Wish me luck!

Turns out the ramp at the place I had been booked in for wasn't low enough to get my car on, so no MOT today. Re-booked for tomorrow at a place that apparently has the technology...

My car's not even THAT low, really - the front only catches on the most extreme of speed bumps, for instance. I can't beleve that places aren't scaled for this sort of thing. I mean, even Ferraris and Lamborghinis and Paganis need MOTing after 3 years and most of those are lower than my front end. I know a lot of modern supercars have a feature to raise the front end, but I can't believe they go up all that much. F*cking annoying, anyway...

1 x MOT not just passed but smashed! No advisory notices or anything. As it should be, of course.

Bizarrely my turbos now seem to be over-boosting, but I'm hoping that's another story. I think I've got it in hand, anyway...

Congrats :D

i have to take my car to a garage that have the ramps set in the floor (as my old normal garage had the same problem you encountered) guess there were no spare bits of wood laying around their garage at the time. . .

Same deal - ramp set in the floor. And no wood. Or flexibility, apparently...

Dont forget to stay on top of the maintainance :) have you properly looked at your

brake calipers yet with the pads out to check the outer seals ?

Well worth doing if you've not done it already and will save you ££'s and hassle in the future ;)
