You need to check the colour code on the vin plate. People often get quicksilver and gunmetal confused. Which is an issue when your painting and don't know the code :)

Its on the left of the engine bay on the sill. easy to spot. although sometimes tricky to read.

Blue Mica Metallic (8L5), ROYAL SAPHIRE PURPLE, QUITE RARE BUT NOT AS MUCH SO. AGAIN AFTER 97 ONLY

There are 3 stock silver colours. The normal 199 silver which is the lightest, Available from 93 to 97.

The 2 others of those only available after 97. Gunmetal which is the darkest. And quicksilver in the middle. Quicksilver is a rare colour. After green and yellow. I had one and I've seen a couple more but that's it.

It's an awesome colour and almost has a pearl to it and can be light or dark at times.

Here they are. Pics stolen from random people in the garage (thanks). appart from my quicksilver.
