Hi all,

I'm looking to purchase my first Supra next week and thought I'd post to see if anyone had any experiance dealing with the trader, Extreme Sports and Performance Ltd based north of Cardiff, or indeed whether anyone recognised the car!

From what I've seen on the market at the moment it looks to be very good value and the guy I've spoken to seems very helpful.

People are being a bit dramatic IMO looks like a fresh import to me. That handbrake has twice as much ware as my car at 160k miles. The missing rad clamp is odd. And needs a new shroud but otherwise doesn't look too bad. Front bumper looks a bit matt. Check there isnt anything else bent and have it checked out by a garage/aa. the headlights are a bit cloudy which is normal they would be newer if it was in a smash possibly. But all easily fixable.

Expensive for what it is tho. You could spend 8k on this site and get a lot more car for your money!

It may be a fresh import, but the more I look at it the more I find wrong. The front bumper is fitted badly, even though the ad states the bodywork is completely straight. I'd be pointing these things out to the seller and offering £6.5k, so long as there's no more issues.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I shall raise these items with the seller. Glad I made a post.

I understand this to have been imported in 2007, however has had 3 owners since, which I thought was a lot.

The seller doesn't have back up of the import mileage, so I asked about getting a BIMTA done, which he didn't think was a good idea stating that this only has the last auction reading, therefore if it had been clocked you might not know. I don't know whether this is true or not be its easy to get the last auction value certified.

Based on comments aboved I'd assume the car has been clocked in Japan before being imported. Do they clock at 100k or 200k km's?

If anyone has any other points please shout, as they are very helpful for me! I will discuss them with the seller.

Price wise, included in the stated price is a 12m warranty, so can cut £300-400 off the price without this, however I thought it might be a good idea to have in case there were problems. I can look to discuss other items too.

There is at least one other car that I'm interested in (if its still for sale!) that I could go for if I'm not satified with with this one.

I'd recommend paying the £10 membership fee and buying one off a member on here. That way you can check to see if they've had any problems with the car and as long as they've been a member on here for a while, they'll have (hopefully) maintained the car to a high standard and you'll get it at a fair price.

That to me looks like it could have been used for drifting.

Tatty handbrake from grip tape maybe

Bumper not fitted right from maybe a prang on track or maybe removal when on track

rad clamp etc from same thing.

Thing is you never know where your car has been in Japan. Some good some bad.

You said it's from Cardiff... I think esperformance is based in Caerphilly?? Or in that area? A friend has has dealings with them with a Nissan 200sx he bought and it's been nothing but trouble. I'd agree with Other members on this website and pay the £10 fee and you may get yourself a stunner for less! I'm waiting for the right car to come along! Keep us updated mate!

The front bumper isn't fitted properly you can see it doesn't line up properly around the headlights, also the engine undertray looks like it's missing, these and the fact that a radiator clamp is missing and the fan cowl is broken could mean it has been in a front end prang at some point. I'd check carefully around the front inner wings for welding and respray.

I find it hard to believe a specialist trader wouldnt fit a new rad cowel and the rad clamp before

advertiseing it, the rad cowel is only £120 approx new and a rad clamp can't be too costly.

TRD side skirts ? crap hks filter filtted, no history, no thanks not at £8k

I was also in touch with Getrag about his car in the classifieds, which I think is better looking and by the sounds of it, better looked after. Not sure if that is still for sale but am checking.

I'm going to make some enquiries with the dealer based on this points.

I'll certainly be joining the club as I'm hoping I'll be able to own one of these cars for life, just trying to work out how to do it. I'll read the membership post in more detail in due course.

Thanks for the feedback.

Not many 'specialist' companies in S.Wales! I for one wouldn't touch it with a barge pole!

Tbh I'd just speak to Jurgen and get him to import one for you. You'll get a fantastic example for not a whole lot more than this.

I have been in touch with Jurgen a few weeks ago, but with nothing currently in stock that suits me, I thought I'd try and see if there was anything suitable available immediately, otherwise it could be a long wait, that will be my back up plan though.

not a bad price for a 6 sp manual (great colour too), other than that, agree with most of the comments on the thread about the poor to average condition of the car.

hard to tell whether the car has been clocked or not without proper service history, tell tale signs are wear to the interior (handbrake, steering, seats, etc) - handbrake not looking its best would be a cause of concern for me.

Says Half Leather in the advert - still struggling to see which one of the seats are leather, rears dont look like a retrim.

Oh - does the car really have metallic paint - didnt think the stock 202 was metallic?

Patience is everything in selecting a car. This is a small community and if you buy a lemon, you will have trouble getting rid of it.

You are in the best place for some free advice and members who will come along and help you out.

Good luck with the search.

Well this car is back on the market if of interest to anyone. I didn't get answers to my questions but the trader had no problem refunding my deposit, and has always been helpful. He also checks in on this forum but not sure what his account name is.

As said by many on here and Josh in particular I would recommend anyone to join here and buy a members car without question.

The missing rad clamp, mis aligned bumper, shody fan casing all points to something, and the sideskirts are OEM not TRD.

Better off buying a members car that also has some history and is known by the club and it will make you for a better car and piece of mind.
