hi everyone on this lovely sunny day in shropshire hope you all having a gud day, last week 20th april 2011 i have bought a toyota supra mk 4 non turbo jap import auto, it as covered 83000 miles and is in excellent condition.

in the last 6 years it as only covered 5000 miles by its previous owner as was only used at weekends and sunny weather.

it is totally standard apart from 18" alloys i want to make it sound better and go better, the fuel consumption is only 18 to the gallon and i am driving sensibly (honest) that seems a little high to me, im thinking maybe an oil, plug and filter change may be gud and full exhaust system induction kit / panel filter any proffesional advice would be much appreciated, thankyou for your time, THE ANIMAL.

im not to sure on the Induction Kit for the Non-Turbo's since this is gonna be my first ever supra lol i do hear that Blitz makes some good exhausts for the non-turbo version its meant to sound very simlar to a turbo supra

Fit an aftermarket exhaust and then look at upgrading brakes/suspension to make it "go better". Looking for power gains on an NA isn't going to gain you very much.

As far as fuel consumption goes, look at replacing the O2 sensor(s) (I'm unsure if the NA has two).

Just for some real world figures. I had a custom exhaust, double decat, tubular manifold and induction arm with cone filter made by a local specialist, along with iridium sparks and a royal purple oil injection (engine and trans). Dyno'd at 246bhp at wheels with 217 torque. The lot cost me £1100.

I'll probably stop there but for another £800 I could add BMW throttle bodies (possibly another 20 - 30bhp) and £600 or so for a piggyback ECU and remap if i was inclined. Personally, if it's more power you want, save up for a TT. If I want more, that's what I'll be doing but for now an NA suits my purpose.

I'm sorry neo but your estimates are well out. ITBS don't net you HP.

So if your at 246 at the wheels that would make your flywheel HP what?

You should be getting 25-27 mpg if your with sensible driving. As changes to be made you want

HKS panel filter (been the best one in my car)

remove second cat

stainless cat back exhaust

lower but not too much as it upsets the driving feel of the car

and thats about it without spending silly money which you would have been better off spending on a TT

when i bought my car i travelled from milton keynes to devon, i managed 31 mpg on the motorway at a constant 60mph. but then that was ALOT of constant driving as i was expecting the fuel to be worse.

a good exhaust and decat will let the engine pick up better. i always felt around 4k rpm it started to pick up, now with a 2.5" exhaust and 3" decat the engine feels much smoother.

if you want power then NA-T is an expensive way to go. TT engine swap is probably cheaper. but then its down to personal choice. im going NA-T :)

I'd say it will be the 02 sensors, also check fuel tank doesn't have a leak (I am not joking they are getting on).
