Project "Nappa & Hammerite Kurust" - interior restoration

Finally decided to DIY restore the interior of my beloved Supra as I plan to keep it for years to come.

Hairline cracks already visible on both front seats but luckily, the rear seats still in mint condition since only aliens without legs can fit in basically. Will just clean and polish it with Auto Glym and Amway leather care products... easy job!

The carpet still in tiptop condition (glued and stitched the torn parts), only dirty thus will send it to the professional cleaning shop for special chemical wash. Also removed the plastic rails on the carpet (just need to carefully pry open the clips and re-use it later) which holds the carpet to the body.

While the carpet is removed and waiting for it to dry (will take 2-3 days under the hot sun) after being chemical-washed, it's a good opportunity to thoroughly inspect the floor plan for any sign of rust and quickly cure it before it gets much worst.

Will also redo the wiring and strap them down nicely with zip ties and vinyl tapes... it's a fun job!

Will apply 3 coats of aerosol paint (30mins interval for each coat) on the cured floor plan (rust will turn into black/blue after 15mins) and some grease into every single bolt holes which secures the seats' brackets.

Taking my own sweet time to clean the rusty areas (using sandpaper and a clean cloth), cure it with Hammerite Kurust then coat it with aerosol paint (will leave it to dry overnite) before putting back the "cleaned and smells fresh again" carpet, while waiting for both front Nappa seats to return from DK Leather factory (*ahemm* they do Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche, Aston and Maserati too).

Spotted and fixed a small crack (using fibre-glass) on the ECU plastic shield and looks as good as new again after a quick flat-black coating. Oh boy... already feeling exhausted now but honestly, it's just so much fun and satisfying to witness such transformation. :)

Made a trip to DK Leather factory (about 40kms away from my home) to check out the progress (sadly, no camera is allowed inside the huge factory area except the reception/showroom). Couldn't get the exact matching color for my aged and worn seats, so chosen a slightly darker tone instead. As for the stitches, they have the exact color code.

If everything goes well, my Nappa seats should be ready by tomorrow and delivered by noon... yabadabadoo! :)

Oh yesss! The "brand new" seats are finally here (they came earlier than expected) and all fitted back into place now after thoroughly cleaning the beige plastic trims surrounding the seats and curing bits of rusty spots. It's looking so nice now, just love the fresh Nappa leather smell so much... yummy! :)

All of a sudden, my Supra feels so young and alive again. I'm definitely gonna keep this amazing piece of art for a long long while... Supra rules!

Plan to clean/bling the engine bay ie. replace the old, hardened and cracking vacuum + water hoses, as my next project but will need some good rest for now...
