Failed MOT

Miserable sods.

Failed on:

Rear fog tell-tale not working.

I knew (and had forgotten) about that - my rear fog switch went goosed, so as a quick fix we just wired them into the fron fogs on the stalk, then forgot to either fit a new switch or a tell-tale.

O/S rear fog light not working.

Worked fine when I tried it after.

N/S front sidelight out.

Yes it was. Changed the bulb.

Both front to rear brake lines excessively corroded.

Bugger, so they are.

CO2 emissions high.

Damn. Probably had been left on the forecourt too long and not run long enough before the test as it has always passed in the past.

N/S front brake binding.

Yep it was. Stripped, freed off and greased, works again now.

Front brakes imbalanced.

Yep, they would be. Hopefully not now.

N/S rear arb linkage has excessive play in ball-joint.

Maybe 1mm play, but fair enough. My dad reckons he should be able to tweak that.

N/S & O/S outer rear upper suspension arms have excessive play in a pin/bush.

Well, we've just had it up on stands and levered all the joints and nothing moved. I'll be going back to the garage tomorrow morning to get the monkey to show me where the play is.

So that's it. I need at least a full set of brake & fuel lines and possibly some bushes.

If I'm really lucky, I'll be able to pay for them. :(

Aye, sucks to be me, lol.

My dad can do the brake line with me (and any bushes that may need sorting too, so I'm okay in that respect. I just know how expensive it was last time I priced up a full set of bushes as it's been on my list of things to do for a while now, but I've not had a spare grand knocking around to do it.
