Yes you will, a RR will stop you from over boosting, a boost controller can't lower the boost levels, only raise them.

If I were you I'd get a 1bar RR as there only a few quid and could save you a fortune by stopping the turbos from failing.

Going to BPU the car as it 70% there already going to

Use a 2" ring as I've been told it's good for 1.2bar

Cheers guys

If your using a boost controller, get a 1bar RR and then just raise the boost to 1.2 via the controller, if your using a 1.2 RR than the chances of it overboosting are too large IMO, plus makes the boost controller pointless as you wouldn't want to raise it anymore than 1.2.

EDIT: Your 'mate' who builds cars for time attacks sounds like he's a bit of a douche if he thinks it's safe to overboost a car, plus it sounds like he thinks you can actually lower the boost level via a controller, which you can't, you can only raise it.

LOL my m8's skyline run's at 2.5Bar so he never uses is controller's to lower the boost, witch is what il have to do after i delete the cats, also as he has a big single he will also have a large waste gate, and i belive the only reason u need a RR is due to the small waste gate's on the twins :).

as i work for a company with a machine shop il just make a few 2.2" 2.0" 1.8" and see what i get :)

cheers :D

and yea i already have a boost gauge :)
