Faded rear bumper.

There seems to be quite a few supras out there with faded rear bumpers (mine included).

Whats the best option for sorting it out, obviously a respray would be best option but i would imagine getting a perfect match is going to be difficult.

What about machine polishing?

Same happened to my stock rear bumper and is quite common from what I've seen.

I think as it's the base colour changing colour rather than the lacquer then machine polishing would have no effect unfortunately and even if it were the lacquer layer then you'd likely need to remove it all and re-lacquer rather than polish. :(

Yours is white, isn't it Neil? I would have thought whites were generally easier to match that others.

Sure is, from what i understand white is a b*tch to match as the slightest mismatch is noticeable, however i'm not a paint specialist so wouldnt know for sure.

I had new skirts fitted sprayed and fitted the other week and its really noticeable in the certain lights.

I just T-cutted, polished and waxed the rest of my car to bring out the shine/try to blend it in the the fresh paint on the skirts, looks ok now. but still not 100% how i would like it.

b;3056060']A machine polish would be a good place to start. Can get some nice results and the colour match should be the same then - (provided the bumper hasn't been resprayed separately at some point)

I dont think its had a respray anywhere, might just go get a few quotes for getting the bumper sprayed, then if its reasonable i will try a machine polish as it wont matter if i mess it up.
