hello everyone im in the process of removing the valves, spings out my stock tt head to replace the valve stem oil seals.

if i cleaned the valves off and gave them a quick lap in, would it cause problems with the shimming for the cams?

im not really that clued up on the shimming, so is there a thread :search: which can help us out?

any help is much appreciated.

Edit - Dude beat me to it.

Again with Russ here in that my knowledge is limited. I am in the process of rebuilding my engine and I will be doing the valve stem oil seals. For what you intend on doing I don't think you will have any issues with the valve shim clearance. If you are that concerned you could get some feeler gauges and check clearance pre and post stem seal replacement. But I think you will be fine. Just remember to store all the parts in the correct order and location.

I will be replacing my cams for Whifbitz 264's. When I do this I will defo be checking the shim clearance.

All the data for this are in some of the build threads or in the workshop manuals at turbosupras.com
