Just stick some new fuel in it Peter and give it a good run. If it's not been used for a long while it might be worth swapping the plugs and putting some new oil in (which will cost lest than a tank of fuel these days!). My current one was the same after being stood for nearly two years, just needed some fresh fuel and a little drive and it was right as rain.

No car likes being stood!

Copper plugs are only £14 a set so if you've not changed them since you bought the car this might be a good time to do it :D

Coppers should be changed every 4-6k miles (assuming BPU)

Platinum and Iridium around 25-30k miles, but personally I found at BPU it was more like 9k miles.
