Damon part2

Well once again Damon brought the supra over for some more work. It started off with me fitting new seals to his recently powder coated calipers. Nice easy job as usual, got them all done and then attempted to fit the bleed nipples.

The friendly powder coater decided to fill the threads up with a pretty red finish :swear:

Then I noticed the end of the road, on both calipers it looked like paint runs but its powder coat :Pling:, no it was not runs but cracks that had been coated. The kind person had split them when taking them apart :banghead:.

Luckily we had three calipers for the front so one old was used and one new. While I was doing this Craig cracked on with fitting a straight through exhaust. Plain sailing for craig.

While stripping the old calipers off the car Craig called me to take a look at what he found. A genuine bodge of a job that seriously takes the piss when it comes to brakes. Some one had drilled the hole out larger on the caliper slide where the caliper attaches and hammered a 13mm nut into the void and used a cheap arse bolt that was even the wrong thread to hold the caliper on. :clown:

While craig was fitting the calipers, I cracked on with fitting a new drivers side belt as the original was not retracting. Easy job you say, Think again when the drivers seat does not tilt or recline .

So belt now fitted I decide to take the seat aprt an take a look at whats wrong. The electrics were fine just seemed like the seat was jamed. Now the fun part Once the covers were off, I started to laugh in shock at what confronted me.

The seat mechanism had been welded in two separate places and there for rendering the seat unmovable.

At the end of the job once complete Damon is a happy guy, I just received a text from him saying he can not get the grin off his face with how happy he is with the car again.

Next saturday he is coming back over the water to have some lexus brakes fitted up front and new audio fitted to the car. Then later on the supra is going to be treated to a full service.

Glad you are happy with the work and car fella. :friends:

SOrry about the picture quality as it was an I phone and bloody freezing so not a still shot.
