1, BOV question:

Is a little oil/spray out of the BOV when vented to atmosphere normal? Is this usual for a little oil to be sprayed out? I remeber when I changed from my stock BOV that it was oiled up a bit.

2, Coolant level:

Before I went to Germany I had noticed my coolant level was below the low mark in the tank infront of the radiator (In need of a service here anyway). So I topped it up to the max level.

1000 miles later (4 weeks) and a lot of thrashing around the Nurburgring the level is back down below the low marker again. I am a little concerned. I have no leaks, or have noticed no warning lights/spills/smells etc. Any comments?

The car is still in need of a service, and will be having one soon, just wondered if there was anything in advance I should keep an eye on.. or am I being paranoid here :)

Cheers,

Rob.

I wouldn’t worry about the oil, perfectly normal to have some hanging around the intake pipe work.

You might be loosing coolant at a very slow rate, slow enough that you don’t notice any leaks. I had one of those 2-ply rubber pipes perish inside, thought the outer layer looked fine coolant was leaking back through the cotton braiding. The leak was slow enough that I didn’t notice any drips. Get the engine hot, so the coolant is at a nice high pressure and have a very good look/feel round all the coolant pipes, being careful not to burn yourself.

Thanks again for the advice Rich. I checked the rad cap yesterday, seems fine, and I have cleaned the area up around it, so if anythings coming out I'll know about it. Just gotta try look at those pipes now! :looney:

I just fitted my HKS SSQV so we can compare the amount of oil at the next meet. :D

My stock BOV was buggered, much better now, turbos are not working nearly as hard!
