ahh. Bugger.

Can you show me a photo of what you have done scott?

Not right now as I don't have any. However, in the install guide on MKIV.com (I think) it shows the modification required for a strut brace. I just did something similar to that with an angle grinder :D

ahh I see. seems strange that toyota would make a strut that doesn't fit with their own bonnet.

is it the same with any strut?

Yeah, the first one I had an issue with was a non branded one. I had to cut off a little more for the TRD due to it being thicker.

Remember that TRD is Japanese, the Japanese Sup didn't come with a scoop.

You could do that but it acts as a spreader plate. Top speed runs put a LOT of force on it and you might dimple the bonnet.

In saying that, a few penny washers would sort that out :D

Mines been like it for a number of years now and no problems.

Whatever you would like to call it, this is the component in question, and provides an explanatory depiction of the solution.

Please excuse my positive, helpful and unsupraclublike demeanour. ;)

It's called the air guide IIRC. You think being helpful on this forum is unsupraclublike? On my end I would say your sour grapes come from you spouting crap and us calling you on it. You up to 50mpg now?
