Expansion bottle

Does anyone know if the stock expansion bottle can be located anywhere other than its stock position as iv got a front mount intercooler fitted?

It's a bit of a big old beast so there isn't anywhere easy to fit it. It needs to be around the same height as the stock one so your option are, erm, limited to say the least

It's much easier to get a smaller expansion bottle off another Toyota (or almost any Jap car) from your local scrap yard and mount it just to the side or infront of the battery. Just take your expansion bottle cap along and see what you can find that fits I recall someone mentioning that one from a Corolla fits

A late 90s Honda civic has a great expansion bottle that fits nice and tidy beside the supras battery no problems it's like a small square shape

A Soarer bottle is shaped like a hip flask only not curved, thats what Im gonna use

i managed to remount mine with the origanal brackets under the headlight so you can see it though the hole by the indicator, ( abit of bending is involved with a mental bracket)

i just top up water by pulling off the pipe at the radiator

I have a Civic one on my car, you also dont need to get the new tank to fit your old tanks cap using this one.

I had to trim down the battery tray and made a bracket for the tank to fit onto, also painted it black as they are white

Mine used to be under the headlight, HKS supply a relocation bracket with R spec FMIC
