Hi, think I just got my 9th points in 3 years. From what I have read it seems that the law is 12 points within 3 years means a ban ?

I could have sworn they were changing it to 4 years ?

Please put my mind at rest asap

ps. I am gonna start listening to radio 2 and talk radio in the car !

From the DVLA's site.

TT99 -

To signify a disqualification under totting-up procedure. If the total of penalty points reaches 12 or more within 3 years, the driver is liable to be disqualified..........

Sometimes you can argue for a ban and larger fine rather than another 3 points on your license.

Good luck Gord.

Thanks mate. It looks like I am ok. I also found this on the DVLA site (probably same page)

Any driver who incurs 12 or more penalty points within a 3-year period faces automatic disqualification under the under "totting -up" system

Thank god they didnt make it 4. So if I did get caught, which Im pretty sure I did, I will be on 9 points till the end of next month when it will go back to 6 :)

I really dont want to be driving around on 9 points, too close for comfort. (I know you are *never* completely safe ;) )

Kewl. I am happy now :D

SLAMMIN VINYL TONIGHT :D
