Ok so i have my facelift headlights in now and need sidelights to pass my MOT in February (can i not just pretend my front fogs are sidelights?? lol).. (thats not my random question.. well not my main on..) :D

Why is it necessisary to buy the facelift looms to fit the clear indicators? why don't people just use the existing sidelight wiring and rewire the new bulb on?

i know diddly squate about this kinda stuff, getting a friend to do it and wanted to see if it was possable to just rewire the existing one.

this is the clear lense i have-

I would imagine you could just rewire it using the original wires. I'd say the only reason for getting the new loom is the prefacelift wires are probably too short to reach the bumper.

I have never really had a look at this so could be talking out my rear end but i'm sure someone will let you know soon.

have you not got side lights in your main front lights dude??

i know on the ones i have on the ridox bumper iv got the option to wire them up, but as yet still not done it yet..

well i have facelift headlights now which doesn't have the little sidelights in as the facelift supras came with the sidelights in the oem clear bumper indicators. ATM i still have the 'orange blob' pre-facelift front indicators with don't come with any kind of sidelight nor sidelight mount.

so as i said, i'll fit the clear ones that i have had lying about for 2 years :taped: which i'm pretty sure have the mounts for the sidelights, but if i can save £50 on the looms then i'm wonering weather we could just use the existing sidelight wiring and wire the correct bulb on..

Ive just fitted mine bud, rite pita, even fitting the actual indicator is a mare, if yours are the ebay ones(like mine) you have to cut the bulb holder off the orange blobs open the hole out on the new bulb holder and glue the holders you cut off the orange ones, follow me so far?,also mark the holders driver and passenger as they are different, get some orange bulbs and dust them over with silver spray paint(so it all looks silver inside the unit), then to fit sidelights i got some wing indicator bulb holders that almost fit the holes(just needed to take a small nick out of the holder), then splice the wires into the headlight sidelight wires, use a multi meter to find the correct wire, hope this helps.

If you'd bought the genuine Toyota ones you wouldn't need the harnesses (just need to do a bit of wiring), the Ebay ones don't include the harnesses, don't think the pre-facelift indicator harnesses will fit.

There is a how to guide HERE

Since you have the ebay ones, we could give it a bash then if all else fails get the OEM ones.

Yeah I guess, Alan said he'd do/help with my rear fog too this weekend.. Although if we're attempting this we'd probably have to go up to olleys for warmth and shelter lol..

Ok thanks guys.. I may just buy the oem facelift ones then and make it easier for myself... Lol

The OEM ones include all the bulb holders but only one of the indicators has the wiring - this is just the way they attach to main wiring loom on a facelift car.

To fit them you'll need to make up the wiring for the one side or alternatively buy another RH harness. Either way the wiring for the side lights will need splicing onto the wiring that went to the headlights before.
