Has anyone fitted a 1jzgte soarer engine into a Mkiv supra yet?

Hi, My name is Mark, I just signed up today, been meaning to doing it for ages due to having a supra for over a year and 1/2

Anyway, i purchased a 2.5 tt soarer today for the simple fact that ive been told that the 1jzgte engine can replace my 2jzge engine in my supra.

Just basically wanted to confirm that the engine mounts marry up to with no mods and that my manual gearbox will bolt straight to the 1jzgte block to.

I understand that I will have to change the loom over but thats something i shall be working out and doing time the engine is out, obviously..Lol

P.s. I'm a mechanic with years of experience so fire away with any mechanical jargon as i will understand you..Lol

Use the search button, couple of guys have done it, look for Littlenum. The gearbox will fit but depending on power plans you might want to get an R154.

Haha some mechanic There are 2, JZ specific 5 speed boxes available, W58 for the NA 2JZ and the R154 for the manual Soarers and Mk3 Supras, the 154 is stronger of the 2.

Fits in a motorbike so im sure it will fit in a supra;)

And a good one, just not with all the jap numbers used as short hand most times..lol

Well my supra has the 2jzge engine with a manual gearbox, just wanted to know if the gearbox I have already bolt straight onto the 1jzgte engine, I'm just searching and learning this site, hey we all have to start somewhere..Lol

Marco, simple answer is yes it will bolt up fine. As I said search for Littlenums project thread, he's running a n/a 5 speed. Biggest ball ache for the swap is the wiring, you need the total engine loom and ECU as the ignition system is totally different.

I have done it too and it's sweet Wireing is not as easy job as swaping the engines but it is possible

Thank you Swampy, made me a little relaxed now, yeah, as I said, I have the complete car so looks like dashboard out job in both vehicles for the wiring fun to take place but im prepared to do it all..
