1) what does bpu do, and how do you achieve fully bpu?

2) on the 2jz-gte, the twin turbos, what pressure do they run at from stock?

1) what does bpu do, and how do you achieve fully bpu?

Increases the boost and improves turbo spool up basically by removing the catalytic convertors, Have a read of the link as suggested above.

2) on the 2jz-gte, the twin turbos, what pressure do they run at from stock?

Stock 0.8bar, BPU up to 1.2bar

3) bhp from tt supra

Power? BPU will raise the power from around 320hp stock to 380-430hp (flywheel) depending on the level of modifications.

4) bhp from Na supra

BPU is not a term used for the NA, removing the cats and fitting an aftermarket exhaust will improve the power and response a little.

5) what is a good price for a cheap decent supra twin turbo (stock preferably)

Age, mileage, spec, etc. will effect the value, compare prices on the classifieds section here, Pistonheads, Ebay, etc.

You will need to fit

1. 1st Decat pipe

2. 2nd Decat pipe

Pic of 1st (smaller nearest the engine) and 2nd (longer) decat pipes next to the stock cats.

3. Aftermarket Cat Back Exhaust

4. Restrictor ring - flange shaped plate that fits between the decat pipes. This has a hole in it and adds a restriction to the exhaust gas flow. It is required as the stock wastegate is overwhelmed when the cats are removed and the car would dangerously overboost without it. Not required if UK Spec Supra.

5. Walbro Fuel pump - GSS342 if J-spec Supra

6. Cooler grade of spark plugs - needed to prevent misfire at higher boost. See FAQ section HERE

7. Boost Gauge

8. Exhaust Gas Temp Gauge - not essential but advised.

9. Fuel Cut Defender - the cars ECU will cut fuel if it sees more than 1bar of boost. This electronic devise fools the ECU and allows boost to be raised above 1bar, 1.2bar generally accepted to be the 'safe' limit.
