As for problems on a 5spd NA, as long as it has been regularly serviced there shouldn't be any.

It is a 15 year old car and parts wear out, the main area of wear I would expect would be to the suspension components (arms, bushes, joints, shocks, springs, upper mounts, etc.)

being in the army i have found a very good friend who is full of advice. He is one of them know everything about everything type of guys. He poped round a few days ago and was saying about checking the work using weights and string. measuring point to point. but i trust the guy i bought it off hes helping me out more than he has too. Have you guys been in the same situation or have any advice on a doit your self check?

the guy i bought it off is delivering the engine and rest of the parts tomoro. That will be one question i will bring up in conversation. I am unsure he said last time he was here every thing was sound on the chassis being straight because i asked why there was filler on it he said to cover the weld that was done. I have been told to sand it to the metal too check. What do you think i should do to be surtain its ok before i start puting 10k into it?

Well hopefully if it has been on a jig then the chassis has been welded up correctly. Once it has the weight of the engine in and is all back together you will need to get it checked and aligned.

What are you plans for the car?

well were too start i want the car back on the road main job. I would love to get it into a magazine. I have had no problems with anything so far "touch wood" so hopefully i will be ok but i will have too get her checked once i drop the engine back in. When the engine is in i will have spent id say £3000 ruff guess on stuff going on too the car like sprayjob and bodykit but no biggie

what would you surgest get it checked with the engine in just shell or carry on?
